Research within the McDougall lab centres on the molecular biology and evolution of invertebrates - especially molluscs. Key research areas include the evolution of biomineralisation and improvement of molluscan aquaculture. We are part of the Scottish Oceans Institute, University of St Andrews, Scotland, and the Coastal and Marine Research Centre, the Australian Rivers Institute, and the School of Environment and Science at Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia.
